As far as I can tell, A.I. is being thrust upon us, just as the old search engines are (coincidentally, of course,) becoming deeply frustrating, with the injection of favoured commerce rubbish, and with vastly reduced useful function.

A.I. seems to be a search engine, with excellent wide-ranging resources, (which were once there in Google, but no more), with feedback loops giving the impression of intelligence (sadly, illusory) and an enhanced ability to access private, personal data and tout echo-chamber Pavlov-dog rewards.

It reminds me of the timeless quote in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, something about looking for a wholesome and enduring relationship in a spaceport bar.

Have I missed something important?
